Finally Made It!!!

Mommy was actually scheduled to be induced last night, but I had other plans. I figured rather than having to put mommy through an extra night in the hospital, I would go ahead and come on out on my own accord. At about 3am yesterday, the intense contractions began and my parents knew the time was arriving soon. They waited until about 5:30 or so to go to the hospital. They arrived, and checked in.

The cervix had ephased about 80%-90%, so it wasn't necessary to give Mom any cervidil. Soon after her IVs were in, they began giving her pitocin to advance the contractions. Shortly after, they gave her an epidural which made everything much better. After just a few hours, the doctor came in and checked on us and said that I was ready to come out. Mommy did such a great job and Daddy was very proud of her. I think Mommy only pushed through two contractions to get me out, which is phenomenal since I'm her first child. Daddy is going to take next week off from work to be at home with me and Mommy. Be sure to give us a call and please feel free to come by and visit us.

Here's a picture of me wrapped up like a burrito. Mmmmmmmm.... Burrito. I can't wait to have teeth some day so I can eat Mexican food.

Here's a nice picture of me and Mommy.

Here I am with my abuelas.

Here's a picture of my abuelos. Hey, where am I at?!? Who took this picture?

Here's our first family picture.

She's BEAUTIFUL! I'm so proud!

What an impressive, full head of hair you have, little Gabriella. And so talented with computer technology -- starting a blog from inside the womb. Clearly Daddy's girl.

Love you so much you little miraculous one; I can hardly wait to nervously hold you and worry about whether I am doing it correctly. I can't wait to observe your infinitesimally small digits and wonder how fingernails can grow at that size -- all whilst remaining minute nose shovels of equal efficiency even to my own. I can't wait to see your little drool, dribbling from the corners of your mouth just like your Uncle Juan. And how proud I will be when you learn to contain the product of your saliva glands inside your mouth the way I never did.

Welcome to this world and may you enjoy your time here with all of us! May you come to bask in the love that has nurtured us so completely.

Love,

Tio/Uncle/Amo Juan

Welcome Gabriella! You haven't met me yet, but my mom (Tania) knows your parents. It's pretty great out here. I've been outside of my mommy for a little over six months! And if your parents are as great as mine, which I'm sure they are, it's all pretty amazing.
I saw your pictures. You have a lot of beautiful hair! Don't give your parents too many sleepless nights. Apperently you are supposed to sleep when it's dark, they call that night, and stay awake when it's not, they call that day.
It would be nice to meet you one day.
Isabella (and Mommy)
PS Don't be in to much of a hurry to get your teeth. They hurt when they "come in" and they still won't let me eat a burrito even though I've almost got three :(

Congratulations proud parents. I hear the grandparents officially now belong to the "Club de Bobos."
We belong to that same club, and it's lots of fun!!
God bless you
