9 months

WOW! Hard to believe I am 9 months old. So much going on since last month. I've been busy popping out teeth, cruising and standing. I love to get into things. Especially, behind the sofas and into the kitchen cabinets. By the way, I'm loving Xmas. I love the lights, decorations and X-mas paper. I'll post some pictures up soon. I'm off to chase our cat, Gatina. P.S. I think she likes our game.

Happy Halloween

What a busy Halloween Weekend! Me and the cousins went to Weston's Fall Harvest Festival. I dressed up as a cow. So did Titi Divina and my cousins Xander, Aidan and Drake. We all dressed up as a Cow Family.
Then we got dressed up again and went trick or treating in Titi's neighborhood. It was fun riding in the red wagon with Cousin Drake. Though, I think I enjoyed it more than he did.
We got lots of candy and toys. I even got a tiara. I had fun playing with it when we got home. Be sure to check out the photos on flicker. Hope your Halloween was just as fun as mine was.

My 1st Autumn

Well just got back from my trip up North. Wow! what a difference in the weather. I enjoyed spending time with my family and got to visit some really cool places. I experienced my first hay wagon ride to the apple orchards and to pick our own pumpkin. The apples were delicious! Be sure to check out the pictures from our trip.
Looking forward to my first Halloween!

7th Month

Oh Boy! I feel like I've grown a lot since my last post. Everyday I am trying something new. I've discovered my tongue and what fun it can be. I like sticking it out and making funny faces in the mirror. Mommy takes me to swimming classes everyweek and I have learned submersion, gliding and floating on my back. I love playing in the water, singing with my friends and jumping into the water like fishies do. I'm still working on crawling... I guess I need more practice. I'll post again soon. Love Gabby

6 month

Well I celebrated my 6 month birthday by going to the beach for the very first time. I loved it! I had so much fun with the water and sand that I didn't even let mommy put on my bathing suit.
Next I visited Dr. Sanchez's office and he said I was average on everything; weight and length. Dr. Sanchez found me to be very active and he said I seem to be burning off every calorie I am taking in. Despite eating three meals a day and drinking several bottles of formula. I haven't gained very much weight since my last checkup. This month I'm weighting in at 15 pounds 9 ozs and 26 inches long.
I've been busy attending baby showers and 1st birthday parties. I can't wait to run around with the bigger kids. Speaking of getting around, I am working on crawling; but haven't mastered it yet. However, I do get around by hopping on my butt. Believe me, it gets me where I want to go. I'm also working on learning to clap, drink from a sippy cup and love story time and music time. Be sure to to check the new pictures on Flickr. Love, Gabby

First Hair Cut

Well I decided it was time for my first hair cut. I didn't even know my hair was being cut, they did it so secretly. Those grown ups are very sneaky. My mommy said it was time for me to get my hair cut, since the back was starting to resemble the 80's mullet. I'll post again soon!

Busy Forth Month

WOW! This month has been the first for a lot of things. I've learned to hold my small bottle by myself, I'm sitting in my high chair during dinner time with mommy and daddy, I'm enjoying my vegetables and I finally got my ears pierced! Lately, mommy has me hanging out on the floor. I love rolling around and discovering new things. I've even befriended our cat, Gatina. She often smells me and rubs against me. Mommy says that is her way of showing me she loves me. I like touching her fur, its soft. These past few days I've been cranky but you would be too, if your were teething.

My First Spoon Feeding

Last week, while at the doctor's he suggested that my mommy begin to spoon feed me cereal and vegetables. So today, my mommy fed me cereal and squash. It was funny, it got everywhere; in my hair, in my hands, on my clothes. Even though I had a bib on, I took it off. At first I was confused why she was sitting me up to eat, but now I know that yummy treats come from a spoon. Well I'm off to take a bath. I'll post again this week.

Busy Bee

WOW! The last couple of weeks have been busy. First I was baptized at Saint Bonaventure Catholic Church. There were four babies and I was the only one that did not cry. Father Prendergast kept winking and smiling at me during the ceremony. We had a lovely time with close family and friends. This a picture of me and my godmother at the baptism. Speaking of family, I met part of my family from New Jersey. It was nice hanging out with my older cousins. They too were in awe with my hair. I also took my second road trip with mommy and daddy. This time we visited Jacksonville and made some stops in Gainesville and Lake City. While we were in Jacksonville, I spent some time with my friend Sophia. It was fun watching Sophia, she crawls and stands. Be sure to check out the pics my mommy posted on Flicker. I'll be posting again soon, my mommy told me I'm getting my ears pierced. I'll be sure to share with you how that goes.

Yummy ... Cereal

Well... last week I turned three months old. My mommy took me to see those funny guys (Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Nunez) and my favorite nurse practitioner, Nancy. They usually make funny faces at me and make me smile. They gave me great news, I can start on solids! So far, I've doubled my birth weight, I'm holding up my head, I try to hold the bottle and I'm bored with my milk! My mommy started me on rice cereal and i loved it; but it made me constipated, (i didn't like that). Yet mommy made it all better with chamomile. Tomorrow I will start on oatmeal. Oh yummy, different foods to come. I can't wait!!!! This month I am weighting at 13 pounds and 24 inches long. Be sure to check out more pictures on Flicker.

Gabby, Gabster... What else?

Lately, I’ve been getting accustomed to my new nicknames: Gabby, “The Gabster”, Gordita, Crazy Hair, Princess, Baby Cakes, and Cutie Pie. I've also been playing a lot of games with my mommy and daddy. I enjoy looking at myself in the mirror, imitating the sounds that my mommy and daddy make with their lips and mouth. I've mastered making bubbles with my mouth. I often babble on during the day and sometimes I get loud. I've even had screaming contest with my older cousin Aidan. Still, my two favorite activities are: sing-along fun (Itsy Bitsy Spider) my favorite song and bath time where I kick and splash the water. Feel free to share with me any other nicknames you can think of.

Relaxing by the Pool on Mother's Day

Today was Mother's Day and I want to wish my mommy a very Happy First Mother's Day... she is getting the hang of the mommy business. I definitely keep her on her toes! Yesterday we wished Abuela Sierra a Happy Mother's Day and today we visited with Nani. Later we went over to Titi Divina's and Tio Ricky's house for a swim. It was my first experience in the pool and I loved it. I hope to visit the pool again soon.

Happy Mother's Day to All!

Weekend with Mommy

This weekend was quiet because Daddy was at a weekend long seminar. On Saturday, mommy and I had lunch with our friend Bianca and on Sunday, we attend mass and witnessed my cousin Drake's baptism. I am 2 1/2 months and I am holding my head better, discovered my hands and working on that eye and hand coordination. If I could just grab that cow bell on the bouncer.... I'll post again soon.

First Road Trip

This was the best weekend yet! My mommy and daddy took me to visit my daddy's home town, Lake City. It was a long ride, but my mommy was happy that I behaved so well and slept most of the drive. It was exciting to be in my daddy's hometown. I have so many uncles, aunties, cousins, and grandparents, I even have a great grandmother. It was really fun meeting Isabella who is 7 months old and Sophia who is 6 months old. Their mommies are my parents' friends. Both of them also have blogs, so I added links to them on mine. Let them know what you think of their sites; I think they are fabulous! Mom also posted some new pictures on Flickr as well.

Easter Weekend

This was a fun weekend. On Saturday, my mommy and I spent the day with my godmother, Regina. They had lunch at Cheesecake Factory, I must say it looked delicious. We had fun shopping the mall and I got lots of compliments on my hair. My mommy is starting to get more creative with my hair do's. On Easter Sunday we went over to my Titi Divina and Tio Ricky's House. It was nice to visit with the boy cousins. I have also been hanging out with my Uncle Juan from London... he is a smart dude, he likes watching CSPAN and BBC America. He's been great helping my parents around with my diaper changes, feedings and entertaining me. He always says I'm "delightful".

1-Month Old

It's hard to believe, but it has already been a month since I came into the world. Mom, Dad, and I are doing great! Mom is still enjoying her time home with me. She isn't particularly looking forward to going back to work in a couple of weeks, but it is something she has to do. She has already made some arrangements with her employer to do contract work. She's glad that she will still be able to spend plenty of time at home with me when she starts working again. Mom is going to put some more pictures on Flickr, so be sure to check them out.

First Day at Work

Yesterday, my mommy decided to pack me up and take me and Nani to visit her co-workers. It was a long trip but it was nice to hear familar voices. I must say I felt like home as I laid on my mommy's old desk and took a nap. I also got to meet baby Nicholas who is 5 months old and a potential future prom date. I also met baby Micaela who is 3 months old. We had lots of fun taking pictures, being held and mommy's co-workers were in awe about my hair!

Two Weeks to the Day

Yesterday I turned two weeks old, and it was a very exciting day! My mom was changing me in the morning, and noticed that something was missing. My umblilical cord fell off! I'm so happy to have a belly button now. The timing couldn't have been any better, because a few hours later a photographer came to take pictures of us. I can't imagine having her take picutres of me without being able to show off my new belly button.

Last night, since I no longer had the umblilical cord, I was finally able to take a bath in the bath tub! I really enjoyed it and I was a bit disappointed when it was time to get out. All in all, I'm doing great and I think my parents are finally getting the hang of the parenting thing.

First Trip to the Doctor

Today Mom and Dad took me to see the doctor for the first time, since they discharged us from the hospital. It didn't take long for me to fall asleep after they put me in the carrier. It is a very comfy seat, especially when it is in the car and we are driving somewhere. The next thing I knew, I was lying on a bed in the doctor's office.

I weighed in at 6 lbs. 4 oz. I had gained about 2 oz. since having left the hospital. The nurse didn't measure any change in my length. The doctor told mom and dad that I was doing great, and that I need to come back for my next appointment after one month. I look forward to riding in the carrier again soon.

Finally Made It!!!

Mommy was actually scheduled to be induced last night, but I had other plans. I figured rather than having to put mommy through an extra night in the hospital, I would go ahead and come on out on my own accord. At about 3am yesterday, the intense contractions began and my parents knew the time was arriving soon. They waited until about 5:30 or so to go to the hospital. They arrived, and checked in.

The cervix had ephased about 80%-90%, so it wasn't necessary to give Mom any cervidil. Soon after her IVs were in, they began giving her pitocin to advance the contractions. Shortly after, they gave her an epidural which made everything much better. After just a few hours, the doctor came in and checked on us and said that I was ready to come out. Mommy did such a great job and Daddy was very proud of her. I think Mommy only pushed through two contractions to get me out, which is phenomenal since I'm her first child. Daddy is going to take next week off from work to be at home with me and Mommy. Be sure to give us a call and please feel free to come by and visit us.

Here's a picture of me wrapped up like a burrito. Mmmmmmmm.... Burrito. I can't wait to have teeth some day so I can eat Mexican food.

Here's a nice picture of me and Mommy.

Here I am with my abuelas.

Here's a picture of my abuelos. Hey, where am I at?!? Who took this picture?

Here's our first family picture.

It's Comfy in Here

Mommy's doctor set my due date for yesterday, but I decided to stay in here a bit longer. Although it's a bit dark, it's still quite comfy. She has an appointment with him today. Hopefully he doesn't have to cancel again, like he did on Thursday. She and Daddy are still very anxious for me to leave my current home and join my new one. I think maybe even Gatina is looking forward to my arrival.

A Blog Is Born (Before I Am)!

My dad has been blogging for a few years now, and has experimented with a few new blogs recently. He has many interests like business, technology, video games, movies. Although he blogged about these topics and more, he really wanted to blog about something really special. He came to the realization that there were already more than enough insightful blogs that discussed the topics he was interested in. So the search for a new blog continued.

All along, there I was right in front of him in Mommy's tummy. What could be more special than his very own pride and joy -- Me! When he finally realized the perfect blog topic, he decided to have me write the blog instead. He is rather lazy and prefers to have other people work for him instead of doing any work himself. Hopefully that trait doesn't rub off on me.

How am I able to write this blog? I have a very special connection with my mom and dad, and I am able to communicate with them, although no one else can understand me. I'm especially grateful for this communication now, considering I still haven't even left my mom's womb. Unfortunately, daddy didn't think of creating a blog for me way back when I was just a peanut.

I'll keep you up to date on the latest happenings on what is going on in my life. Right now I'm still very comfortable in Mommy's womb, although we are going to hit the 40-week mark on Monday. We'll see whether or not I feel like coming out yet by then. Mom and dad are both anxious to see me in person, because those funny looking sonograms do not do me justice.
